The shift

AI isn't a gimmick. It's the biggest shift in how the web gets built since the smartphone.

The math has changed. The tools have changed. The expectations have changed. Most local web shops are still building sites the way they did in 2015 — and charging like they did in 2015 too. We don't. We've been all-in on modern AI since the first capable models shipped, and we bring that edge to every website, app, and automation we deliver.

01

The internet your customers use is changing.

Search is becoming conversation. Software adapts to the person using it. The website that worked for your business last year isn't the one your customers are landing on today — and the gap is widening every quarter.

02

The tools your business runs on are changing.

Custom dashboards, internal automations, AI-powered workflows — all of it used to require a software team. With the modern AI stack, a one-person shop can deliver what a five-person agency used to. That's the math behind our prices.

03

The productivity ceiling just lifted.

AI-assisted tools cut hours of routine work down to minutes. Less time spent on the boring stuff means more time spent on the actual business. That's what AI fluency does for you — and that's what we build for our clients.

What we actually build

A website is just like snowpack. It's only as sound as its layers.

Every storm leaves a layer, and a weak one buried in the middle is what brings the whole slope down. Same with the web: the pretty surface is the part everyone talks about, and the layers underneath are what decide whether it holds. We build the whole column.

  1. What people seeThe design, the words, the way it feels to use.
If this layer is weakVisitors leave before they read a thing.
  2. Getting foundSearch, maps, and the AI assistants people now ask.
If this layer is weakYou are invisible to everyone who is not already a customer.
  3. The work it doesOrdering, booking, invoicing, dashboards.
If this layer is weakYou keep doing it by hand, forever.
  4. Your informationCustomers, orders and history, in a database you own.
If this layer is weakYour customer list is trapped in someone else's platform.
  5. What it runs onHosting, backups and monitoring on Google Cloud.
If this layer is weakThe site goes down and a customer tells you before you notice.
We build and maintain all five. Most shops do one or two and leave you to find someone for the rest.
How it goes

Four camps between the first conversation and launch day.

Why Snowpack

A web shop built for the way mountain business actually works.

01

Built with the latest AI

We use Claude, Gemini, and the rest of the modern AI toolchain as a force multiplier — so you get faster turnaround, better polish, and capabilities that used to take a 5-person agency.

02

Local in the foothills

Based in the 285 corridor — Conifer, Bailey, Pine, Evergreen. Text or chat directly with your actual designer. No call centers, no offshore tickets, no support queues. The person who builds your site is the same person who replies when you need a tweak.

03

Hosting included

Domain, hosting, and the website itself — one shop, one invoice, one direct contact when something needs attention. No bouncing between three vendors when your site goes down.

Service area

Built for Colorado's 285 corridor.

We focus on small businesses, creators, and non-profits in the mountain communities west and southwest of Denver — the towns where word-of-mouth still matters more than ad spend.

About

Two decades of hands-on tech, now with the AI advantage.

Snowpack Consulting has been quietly running the IT for small businesses in Colorado for nearly twenty years. We know what it takes to keep a website up, a domain renewed, and an inbox running on a Saturday night when something breaks.

What's new is the toolkit. Modern AI tools change the math on what a one-person shop can deliver — and we've leaned all the way in. The result: agency-quality websites and apps, at independent prices, from a designer you can text or message directly when something needs attention.

Questions

The things people ask before hiring anyone.

How much does a small business website cost?

It depends on what the site has to do — a well-built brochure site for a local trade is a different job from a booking system with customer accounts. Build work is quoted per project after a conversation, rather than as a package price that would be wrong for most people. For clients we work with on an ongoing basis, that usually settles into a retainer once the build is done. Ask and you will get a real number for your project, not a range designed to get you on a call.

Do you work with businesses outside Conifer and Bailey?

Yes. We are based in the 285 corridor and know the local market well, but the work is remote-friendly and we build for businesses across Colorado and beyond. Being local mostly means you can text the person who built your site and meet in person when it helps.

How long does it take to build a website?

A focused small-business site is usually a few weeks from first conversation to launch. Apps and booking systems take longer because there is real logic to get right. The AI toolchain has genuinely compressed this — work that used to take a team a quarter now ships from a small shop in weeks.

What does it mean that the sites are AI-built?

It means we use Claude, Gemini and the rest of the modern toolchain as a force multiplier, not that a machine generates your site unattended. Every line is reviewed and every page is looked at before it ships. The benefit to you is speed and polish that used to require a five-person agency.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes, and for the things you will actually change often — hours, menus, events, photos — you get a straightforward way to do it. For anything structural, you text the person who built it and it gets handled.

Do you handle the domain and hosting too?

Yes — domain, hosting and the site itself from one shop, one invoice, one person to contact. That is deliberate: when a site goes down, the worst possible position is three vendors each pointing at the other two.

Will my site show up on Google?

Search is built in from the start rather than bolted on afterwards — structured data, clean semantics, real performance budgets, and the local signals that matter for a mountain-town business. Increasingly that also means being readable by AI assistants, which is a different job from ranking on a page of blue links, and we build for both.

What if I already have a website?

That is common and usually fine. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth rebuilding or whether the money is better spent on the layers underneath — hosting, search, or the software the business actually runs on.
